Last month Heaven and I (Sarina) were invited, alongside Trinidad’s K-Pop Ambassador DJ “Action Quan”, to lunch with South Korea’s Ambassador Lee . It’s been a fun ride so far working on this project and seeing it grow. Can’t wait to show you all more of what we have in the works! So proud of all that our little project has achieved and fostered in its short time and the collaborations it is bringing about. I am also thrilled to share that we’ve also been picked up for a third season by the South Korean Embassy!
Thanks so much to all of you who have shared words of support along the way and who pop onto our InstaLives! It really makes our day! KimKats 화이팅! 😸
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea is pleased to announce the establishment of the Korea Corner at the Center for Language Learning (CLL) of the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine Campus, which is the first of its kind in Trinidad and Tobago.
Korea Corner
The Korea Corner is an educational and cultural resource center that aims to enhance cultural exchanges between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago through teaching and the promotion of Korean culture. The Korea Corner allows a greater exposure to Korean culture and increased access to materials about Korea.
Korea Corner
At the Corner, students and general public can immerse themselves in Korean culture through various audio, visual and textual contents. Hundreds of Korean novels and poetry books shelved in the Corner offer an opportunity for Trinidadians to see hidden sides of Korean society, learn about unknown history, and feel the deeper meaning of its philosophy. Visitors can also enjoy a wide variety of Korean films and TV series by using modern technology that is well equipped within the venue. Besides books, films, and TV series, the Korea Corner provides educational resources for persons who intend to learn the Korean language.
Korea Corner
The Korea Corner is located on the second floor of the Center for Language Learning (CLL) within the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine Campus and is open from Monday to Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea hopes that the establishment of this Korea Corner will encourage and strengthen cultural exchange and co-operation between our two peoples of Korea and Trinidad and Tobago, further contributing to our friendly and cooperative relationship in the years to come.
Korean food has been growing in popularity here on the Caribbean island of Trinidad.
한국음식이 이곳 캐리비안 섬나라 트리니다드에서 인기를 얻고 있어요.
We invited four friends to experience a wide range of Korean fare. Traditional cooked dishes from the Golden Bell Korean Restaurant (bibimbap, kimbap, yangnyeom chicken, japchae), home cooked fare from Heaven’s kitchen (tteokbokki), packaged sweet snacks
(Chocopie, Pepero), and fresh fruit (Korean pears). The verdict? Daebak (awesome)! 평가는? 대박!
